| Job Description : | Job descriptionResponsibilities: · To recruit, equip, and direct a team of volunteer musicians participating in contemporary music;· To provide leadership for Praise Bands and the leading of contemporary worship experiences by working with the pastors and others in areas such as service development, music selection and preparation, creation of weekly PowerPoint or Pro Presenter presentations, sound, and other creative ministries (video, drama, etc.);· To provide music for children and youth ministries as well as other worship experiences (i.e.- Prayer service)· To organize music files and the recording of music use for CCLI;· To support the maintaining and updating of the media systems and to deal with computer and IT issues;· To participate in staff and leadership meetings as needed and communicate effectively with the congregation;· To participate in planning new worship experiences and outreach events in and beyond the local church, including working with other churches and/or other ministries in the community;· To support and network with other music leaders at St. Mark’s in traditional worship experiences;· To provide input to the budgeting process and oversee the annual budget for contemporary worship ministries.· Other duties assigned by the pastorQualifications: · Experience:o Ideal candidate would have a minimum 2 years of experience developing, coordinating, and leading team based music and worship ministry in a growing church – with an emphasis on contemporary worship· Education:o Ideal candidate would have a post high school education, including degree work or training in adult ministry and in music / worship ministry· Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Other Desired Qualities: o Willing to embrace the Mission, Vision, Values and other Statements of Faith of St. Mark’s UMCo Demonstrated mature and growing Christian faith, and a commitment to life-long learningo Demonstrated passion for worshipping God, sharing one’s faith, and the discipleship of otherso Demonstrated ability to work in a highly collaborative, team-based environment, while also being self-motivated and having the ability to make independent ministry and leadership decisionso Demonstrated organizational, presentation, influencing, coaching, facilitation, and verbal and written communication skills, and ability to motivate and recruit volunteers to share in the ministryo Demonstrated creativity and innovation in planning, coordinating and leading adult, and Spirit-filled worship ministrieso Demonstrated proficiency in leading worship/music teams in contemporary worship experienceso Demonstrated proficiency in guitar or keyboard and in vocal singing/leadingo Demonstrated proficiency with: MS Office software and Power Point or Pro-PresenterJob Type: Part-timePay: $20.00 – $25.00 per hourCOVID-19 considerations:We currently are mandating masks in our building except for speakers and singers during worship.Job Type: Part-timePay: $20.00 – $25.00 per hourBenefits:Flexible scheduleSchedule:Weekend availabilityCOVID-19 considerations:Mask are optional in the buildingEducation:High school or equivalent (Preferred)Experience:Religious Music Directors: 2 years (Preferred)Work Location: One location |
