Tribeca Studios develops and produces custom film projects in association with brand partners in the documentary and narrative sphere. Tribeca Studios delivers high quality storytelling across the evolving media landscape by utilizing its network of filmmakers and established track record in film and television production.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Vice President of Production is responsible for ensuring that all Tribeca Studios productions are fully supported both creatively and financially. This senior management role covers all production within the studio, including feature films, episodic series, and shorts. Reporting to the Chief Content Officer, the VP, Production will develop, oversee, and manage budgets and production teams, and serve as a strategic thought leader to position Tribeca Studios in alignment with Tribeca Enterprises’ long-term expansion goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the outreach and collection of concepts and treatments from filmmakers and create the production schedule to manage and produce these films.
Build and oversee production budgets.
Work closely with directors, producers, and the production teams to ensure all productions are produced at the highest quality level, on time and on budget.
Develop and maintain business relationships with filmmakers and distribution partners.
Work closely with our in-house legal team on contract requirements and to obtain all deliverables from filmmakers.
Collaborate with the finance department to manage and oversee production accounting and cash flows of each project
Continually develop a list of potential creative partners and collaborators that can be accessed regularly to complete projects on time and within budget.
Manage studio staff (full-time and seasonal), production teams, and talent on all productions.
Work directly with Chief Content Officer to determine best practices across the studio.
Attend festivals, conferences, and sales meetings as required.
REQUIREMENTS + SKILLS
8+ years’ experience in field production, with 4+ years managing crews and production teams.
Strong contacts in all areas of production, ideally with an
expansive network of filmmakers including directors, producers, and production companies.
Extensive knowledge of project bidding, budgeting, production, and physical media delivery and distribution.
Experience in producing both documentary and narrative projects from scratch and seeing through – including financing, development, production and postproduction.
Demonstrable experience negotiating and staffing a documentaries and docuseries, as well as narrative projects.
Exceptional communication skills and the ability to interface with C-suite and synthesize relevant information to provide updates around production status.
Fluency in Microsoft Office, Dropbox, Google Drive.
Familiarity with entertainment guilds and practical concepts of guild vs. non-guild productions.
Exceptional leadership and motivational abilities, with an approachable demeanor and readiness to problem solve.
