Role Summary:
The Vice President, Film Production Finance is responsible for supervising all financial aspects of feature film production, for numerous projects, in different stages of the production process (early development, pre-production, production, post-production). The role will serve as one of the main contacts/liaisons between the Studio and each individual project assigned. Qualified candidate must be able to multi-task and balance priorities on competing initiatives.
Essential Responsibilities:
Oversight and ownership of film budgeting
Accuracy and integrity in estimating and timely cost reporting ($80M+)
Cash management oversight of worldwide productions, with understanding of foreign currencies, hedging, and FX gains/losses
Management of accounting crew worldwide (hire, supervise, etc.)
Design and implement corporate structures to maximize tax incentives
Supervise application, tracking, collection of film incentives worldwide
Work closely with and support physical production executives, effectively collaborate with other departments including VFX, music, post production, business affairs, legal, tax, and labor relation
Presentations to senior management
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
Extensive production finance executive / financial controller experience in domestic and foreign locationsExpertise in film budgeting and proven ability to estimate across wide-ranging scenarios (location cost comparisons, sequence costs, etc.)Expertise in domestic and foreign film production incentives with solid understanding of tax issues and labor laws, including collective bargaining agreementsProficiency with industry standard software (Movie Magic Budgeting, Vista, PSL, Outlook, Microsoft Suite)Team player who enjoys both working independently and values being part of a unitExcellent verbal and written communication skillsWell organized with strict attention to detailAbility to multi-task and prioritize work assignments in a constantly changing and challenging environmentAbility to work with and be trusted with confidential informationAbility to clearly and effectively communicate complex production and financial information
