Job Description : HMMH is an international leader in environmental noise and vibration control in the transportation sector. We provide consulting services to government and private sector clients related to aviation, highway, rail, transit, industrial, construction, military, recreational, and entertainment projects. We are looking for a detail-oriented Technical Editor with Section 508 standards and guidelines experience to join our growing team. Responsibilities include reviewing technical reports, marketing collateral, and other documentation, designing templates and graphics, developing training manuals, and ensuring compliance with project specifications.

Responsibilities:
Ensures documents comply with Section 508 standards and guidelines for federal documents
Review documentation for clarity, grammar, spelling, punctation, content and voice, style, and template adherence
Manage print and digital document production process to include 508 remediation of publications.
Ensure print and digital documents meet standard of excellence and are ready for client delivery
Develop templates according to client requirements
Ensure documents adhere to style guides (in-house and external)
Assist with research as needed
Incorporate innovative editing tools and software to improve document quality and traceability
Make any necessary corrections to technical documents
Develop content and editing workflow in coordination with the Project Manager or Project Coordinator
Develop and ensure adherence HMMH style guide
Assist with creating graphics as needed
Conduct quality control on all printed and web documentation, including brochures, advertisements, web content, newsletters, marketing materials, etc.
Give feedback and advice to technical writers
Train technical writers to use template and hold periodic training for all staff
Other responsibilities as needed
The minimum qualifications for this position are:
3-5 years editing experience, preferably in technical communication
Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Expert-level experience with Microsoft Word
Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, SharePoint, Box, Microsoft Excel
Experience with data visualization is a plus
Experience with technical communication software a plus
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communication, marketing, or related field
