We are tasked with imaging and creating the “what’s next,” and for that, we need creative people who are excited to dig in.As a Technical Artist at Tafi, you’ll be part of a team with two decades of leadership in the graphic arts, 3D modeling, animation, and AR/VR markets – pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in 3D art and avatar content creation. We operate a leading global content marketplace for 3D artists and one of the world’s most fun and versatile avatar engines. Whether it’s working directly with consumers, entertainment studios, or leading digital platforms, we push ourselves to find, develop and refine the experiences and tools that change how people identify with and explore a world of mixed realities.In this position, you’ll be responsible for:Maintaining and improving technologies and art workflowsCollaborating with partner studios to share technology and best practicesSolving challenging technical issues in the 3D asset pipelineDeveloping 3D art pipeline tools and extensions with an eye towards usability and efficiencyWorking on new R&D projects with prospective clientsPeople who tend to excel most in this position typically have:At least 3+ years of games/animation/FX production experienceExpert in modeling and art tools (Autodesk Maya, 3DS Max, Photoshop, etc.)Experience in a full digital art content creation pipeline (high and low-poly modeling, unwrapping, baking, texturing, level art);Ability to work with technical documentationExcellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work with minimal supervisionProficiency in Python and JavascriptExemplary candidates should have:C++ or C# experienceRigging experienceExperience with shader development in a 3D modeling package (e.g., 3DsMax) and/or game engine (e.g., Unreal Engine)But one of the biggest things we thrive on is passion and ability for the unexpected.
