The Editorial team is looking for a Senior Editor to support the North American Editorial team in our work with key non-music entertainment and business-critical partners.
Partnerships are crucial to Spotify’s success in key verticals and the editorial team is integral in bringing these partnerships to life. The editorial team leads key content such as partner hubs (like Netflix) and companion playlists (like Higher Ground or League of Legends). This Senior Editor will be charged with developing the music element of these partnerships, with both internal and external partners. This person will also work with the broader editorial team to align partnerships to editorial goals and strategies.
What you’ll do
Strategic oversight of editorial partnerships
Consult and collaborate with internal partnership teams
Implement partnerships: leading playlist curation, promotion and reporting
Identify new partnership opportunities and help craft proposals
Use cultural expertise to create new programming efforts
Partner relationship management, both internally and externally
Lead cross-functional projects from an editorial perspective
Read data to understand the value of our work
Be a technical guide on Spotify’s in-house curation and programming tools, understanding how best to deploy these tools to optimize audience engagement across playlists
Provide a strong, candid editorial voice to create an outstanding user experience
You will work out of the New York, NY office
Who you are
3-4+ years minimum experience in partnerships, with experience directly in editorial partnerships
Experience working with creatives
Experience in people management
Strong understanding of music trends in North America
Strong understanding of Spotify’s editorial offering
A keen sense of what music is appropriate for any situation
Strong project management skills
Good communicator/teammate who can easily work cross-functionally
The ability to comprehend and productively respond to analytics
A strong understanding of, and experience with, Spotify as a user and fan
A friendly and warm demeanor!
A strong propensity to take initiative and absolutely flourish with change
Ability to travel when needed
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
