| Job Description : | Position Title: Secondary Vocal Music Teacher/Assistant Choir Director Department: Alma High School Reports To: Principal School Year: 2022-23 Contract: 213 Days Closing: March 27, 2022 Salaries: https://www.almasd.net/Page/70 Alma School District is actively seeking an experienced, talented and dynamic individual to join our highly successful and award winning choral department. The goals and objectives for our choral team include growing the mindset and interest level of students regarding their development, knowledge and application of vocal music skills. ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL SET Holds an Arkansas teaching license within the range of 7-12 Bachelors degree in music, music education, or related field is preferred Proven experience working as a choir director Sound musical knowledge The ability to interpret various styles of music Strong leadership and listening skills Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Effective communication skills A passion for music; is patient, creative, and assertive Displays effective classroom management and incorporates engaging student activities Assist in performances and rehearsals Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to provide an orderly, productive and engaging classroom environment Create engaging, active lesson plans to promote student mastery Communicates with parents and other personnel regarding student mastery and progress Maintain professional competence by participating in continuous professional growth, curriculum development opportunities, and Professional Learning Communities MUST BE ABLE To improve students academic performance To instill students with intrinsic motivation to learn To assist the school, i.e., administrators, teachers, students and support staff, to reach their academic and behavioral benchmarks and goals To set high expectations for students cognitive, affective and behavioral learning, growth and development To contribute to the teaching and achievement of skills, performance standards and outcomes To develop well-rounded students: including physically, intellectually, socially and emotionally to promote good mental health in students Alma School District assures Equal Employment Opportunities and equal education opportunities for employees and students as required by Federal and State Orders and Laws.
