| Job Description : | Island Journeys LLC is an excursion operator in Puerto Rico, specializing in guided excursions to the rainforest and transportation services. At Island Journeys, Tour Guides play a vital role in our day-to-day guest experiences. Guides are primarily responsible for leading scenic leisure hikes along the river and trails, ensuring that tours run safely and smoothly, and that all visitors experience genuine local and cultural adventure throughout their activity.Requirements:Enthusiastic, experienced, energetic and customer service oriented individual with a love of Puerto Rico’s history and beauty.Attention to detail, punctuality, flexibility, patience, and professionalism.Excellent communication skills and aptitude for fostering meaningful connections with diverse audiences.Demonstrated problem solving experience.Ability to memorize and relay detailed information in an engaging and factual manner.Dedicated team player who adapts easily to rapidly changing environments and situations.Bilingual in English and Spanish.Experience in guiding rainforest tours.CPR & First Aid Certified – can be obtained after hireChauffeur’s license – can be obtained after hireResponsibilities:Pre-trip procedures including but not limited to: filling out pre-trip documents, preparing vehicle, collecting equipment and food for tour, etc.Guest pick up procedures such as: maintaining communication with guests or office in the event of delays, greeting the guests, loading on the bus, etc.Provide safe transportation and quality spoken narration throughout the drive.Deliver safety briefings and follow all company policies and procedures in regards to safety on tour.Retain extensive knowledge of the rainforest and Puerto Rico, and consistently relay that information to guests in an entertaining and informative way.Be timely, make all required stops and maintain a tight schedule throughout the day.Complete all necessary post-trip procedures, including filling out post-trip documents, cleaning and returning relevant equipment and vehicles, filling out time cards, etc.Participate in ongoing training in areas of safety, customer service, communication, etc.Job Type: Full-timePay: $70.00 – $160.00 per daySchedule:Monday to FridayWeekendsSupplemental Pay:Commission payTipsLicense/Certification:Driver’s License (Preferred)CPR Certification (Preferred)Chauffeur’s Permit (Preferred)Work Location:Multiple locationsThis Job Is Ideal for Someone Who Is:Dependable — more reliable than spontaneousPeople-oriented — enjoys interacting with people and working on group projectsDetail-oriented — would rather focus on the details of work than the bigger pictureCompany’s website:www.islandjourneys.comWork Remotely:NoCOVID-19 Precaution(s):Remote interview processPersonal protective equipment provided or requiredTemperature screeningsSocial distancing guidelines in placeSanitizing, disinfecting, or cleaning procedures in placeWork Location: Multiple Locations |
