Job Description : | SUMMARY Provides personal and uncompromising service to all internal and external customers of Churchill Downs Racetrack (CDRT). Ensures that every detail of the guest’s racing experience is attended to and assists in various events and special projects, as booked by the Sales & Strategy Team. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Duties include, but are not limited to: Facilitating and managing customer reservations, as well as seating changes, and ticket sales. Develops and maintains respectful relationships with members in premium dining spaces, private groups and guests. Evaluating and resolving guest issues related to overcrowding, dress code violations, ticket discrepancies, table arrangements, seat locations, etc. Providing Levy and any other service providers with detailed and up-to-date “Profile” information on each event day. Assisting the Horsemen’s Relations Assistant on Stakes Race Days with seating in premium dining spaces, as needed Creating custom room diagrams for events and pulling daily racing reports. Effectively communicating details of each event day and race day to all necessary departments to ensure success Assisting and facilitating events booked by the group, premium or special events sales teams. Ensuring courteous, professional, sincere, and responsive communications with all customers Completing clerical and administrative tasks as necessary Responsible for reporting maintenance problems and seeing that each is resolved in a timely manner Performs functions in order to “open” premium dining spaces prior to gates, which includes turning on TV’s, adjusting the track audio level, turning on lights. This position will remain in room until the last guest has left the floor and will ensure all functions to “close” the room have been performed. Educating patrons on the basics of wagering, on track promotions, key areas of the facility, local sites of interest, assisting with tickets, instructions, and helping customers with special needs. Responsible for maintaining a stock of necessary race day items, which include racing programs, pencils, coat storage and hangers, customer identification, wagering information, etc. Perform other related duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES No supervisory responsibilities EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE High School Diploma required, College degree preferred People oriented, able to multi-task, be organized, motivated and detail focused Prior interaction with the public and/or working knowledge of the horse racing industry preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other related software Experience working in TicketMaster archtics is a plus WORKING CONDITIONS This work is performed in a business office setting within a Sports and Entertainment facility. Some areas of the facility may be noisy and subject to changing weather conditions. This position will work all race days to include nights and weekends during the Spring, September and Fall Meets. PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS Excellent customer service skills Very detail oriented Dynamic personality and ability to positively address challenging situations Positive attitude and energy Previous experience working in an entertainment, sports, or a similar environment Exceptional verbal and written skills Ability to multi-task and develop strong professional relationships in all aspects of the position Experience Preferred Customer Service, Events, or Horse Racing Industry preferred Education Required High School or better Licenses & Certifications Required Racing License |
