This position will report to the Director, Major Events of Mercedes-Benz Stadium and have one direct report and will oversee part time employees such as an intern or seasonal staff when applicable.Roles and ResponsibilitiesOversee the development and leadership of an Event Coordinator. Shepherd them on the events under their ownership. Coach them providing constructive feedback and areas of growth.Serve as the lead contact and liaison during the planning and execution of assigned major events (identified above), including but not limited to internal communication, budgets, vendor and supplier relationships, site visits.Work with client to understand their needs, collaborating with internal staff to develop detailed event plans, event outlines, maps and diagrams.Collaborate with Atlanta Falcons Football Operations staff for weekly venue related game planning and logistics. Including but not limited to (equipment deliveries, locker room management, equipment inventory management and maintenance, etc).Manage all logistics and operations related to visiting NFL teams. Including transportation, catering, equipment deliveries, locker room management, visiting team clubhouse staff, and ownership planning.Oversee venue operations and logistics for all NFL broadcast networks. Finalize and coordinate broadcast compound preparation, catering, credentialing, camera placement, parking, etc.Manage preparation and assignment of all event-operational spaces and rooms for NFL games. Work with Stadium Operations staff to prep each space with proper equipment and consistent cleanliness.Serve as lead contact for venue related NFL policies and procedures.Manage weekly delivery schedule for NFL games.Meet with department leads to do necessary pre-work to ensure the meetings are timely and efficient for all involved.Oversee event specifics with all departments and vendors, communicating the client’s objectives and event details regarding schedules, staffing, equipment rentals etc. including Conversions/Sustainability, Housekeeping, Engineering, Food Service, Security, Medical, Production, IT, Parking, Public Safety, Ticketing, etc.Schedule and lead pre-event meetings for assigned major events to include all pertinent internal departments and external partners. Schedule and/or assist with after action meetings post event.Coordinate with event planners to understand event requirements for move-in/event/move-out to ensuring the appropriate days/times are allocated on the stadium calendar.Prepare and assist with the preparation of all event related estimates and final settlements with the finance department.Ensure the event elements of the contract are accurately executed and the equipment, physical set-up and personnel provided meet the requirements of the event, including the load-in and load-out of events as well as the arrival and departure of equipment and staging for the events.Provide leadership and support for other types of events such as community based or internal events as needed. The Manager, Major Events may be asked from time to time to assist with internal events during heavy event load weeks for the department.Identify operational challenges associated with his/her group and determines how to best work with stadium departments and the client to solve these challenges and/or develop alternative solutions.Participates in client site inspections and walk throughs, assists with the sales process as necessary.Establish and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, contractors and all key internal and external key stakeholders.Assist with the preparation and filing of post event notes including staffing matrix’s, attendance, department reports, cost estimates and settlements, statistics and other event related data to provide insight into future event operations.Performs other duties as assigned to meet stadium, event, department and business needs.Embrace and practice our 6 Core Values: Put People First, Listen and Respond, Include Everyone, Innovate Continuously, Lead by Example, Give Back to Others.Qualifications and Education Requirements5 years of progressive responsibility in Stadium, Arena, Multi Use Facility and/or Major Event coordination/management of large-scale eventsBachelor’s degree required, preferably in Facility Management, Event Management or Sports and EntertainmentStrong management, organizational, communication and leadership skillsRequired SkillsProficient in Microsoft office applications and word processing, spreadsheets, database, presentation, internet software and basic graphic designExcellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, ability to communicate effectively at all levels both internally and externallyAble to simultaneously manage a high level of detail across multiple projectsAble to demonstrate flexibility and quickly adapt to changes while maintaining high levels of productivity and effectiveness under pressureAble to work well within a team environment offering leadership and support to team members whenever necessaryAble to balance internal priorities with client expectationsAble to work late nights, early mornings, weekends and holidaysAble to work indoors and outdoorsBe creative, and consistently bring new ideas to our event operationsStrong logistical and operational experience with sports, concerts, or any high-level production related eventJob Type: Full-time |
