Job Description : JOB PURPOSE
The Human Resources Manager leads the TUTS people strategy and is a recognized champion of the staff within the organization. Aligned with our business strategy, our people strategy centers around our talented workforce; establishing and delivering competitive total rewards, leading succession planning and strategic recruitment, shepherding talent development and performance management and serving as advisor and advocate to employees and management. The Human Resources Manager works closely with the Executive Director and Artistic Director to develop and support a culture of creativity and collaboration which supports staff in achieving high performance standards.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy
Establish, execute and promote HR initiatives that effectively support TUTS’ mission, vision, values and business objectives.
Function as a strategic and consultative HR/business advisor to senior leadership regarding key organizational and management issues.
Champion equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility (EDIA) through leadership involvement, education and programs/processes.
Partner with senior leadership on the TUTS employee value proposition (EVP) to drive employee engagement, retention and productivity.
Develop and adhere to a sustainable budget.
Develop and facilitate change management strategies.
Organizational Development
Design and implement training and development strategies, plans and systems to ensure the organization is prepared to meet current and future needs.
Manage the performance management program including the annual performance review process and calendar, providing appropriate documentation, training, and instructions to management (with continuous improvement of the process)
Design and facilitate succession planning, talent review, and leadership development programs.
Develop transparent employment pathways that promote professional career growth opportunities
Provide internal HR coaching and consulting to the organization.
Facilitate key meetings and workshops as it relates to HR policies, protocols, and culture.
Total Rewards
Continually assess the competitiveness of all compensation and benefits programs and practices against relevant and comparable companies, industries and markets.
Develop and administer company-sponsored benefits programs.
Legal Compliance
Maintain current knowledge and understanding of regulations, nonprofit trends, current best practices, new developments, and applicable laws regarding human resources management.
Work with the Executive Team to annually review company policies and Employee Handbook. Write and develop policies as required. Ensure effective change management strategies in place to maximize employee engagement and compliance.
Ensure ongoing compliance with all relevant local, state and federal laws
Support the HR/Payroll Coordinator with payroll processing, benefits and retirement plan administration and reporting compliance.
Respond to any unemployment, EEOC and other employment claims
Administration:
Manage the budget and other financial measures of the HR department.
Oversee the management of the human resource information systems database and necessary reports for critical analyses of the HR function and the people resources of the company.
Manage other areas such as onboarding, relocation, employee communication and engagement, employee safety and health and community relations.
Support worker’s compensation administration.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field
Success as a progressive HR generalist ; including talent management, talent acquisition, total rewards and employee relations; supervisory experience preferred.
Strong commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility; with the ability and commitment to work with diverse groups in terms of gender expression, race, sexual orientation, religion, ability, age, class and immigrant status.
Strong business acumen and track record of successful HR strategic partnerships to drive business results
Solid knowledge of HR policies, people programs, and employment laws and regulations.
Excellent personal leadership and change management skills.
Demonstrated emotional intelligence and strength in establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
Excellent planning and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously to ensure work is completed in a timely and productive manner.
Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively in oral and written communication
Fluent in Microsoft365 products, including Word and Excel.
