Job Description : We are LEGOLAND California Resort – the place where FUN is built and memories are made. Across our Resort we have two fantastic LEGO themed Hotels, a Water Park, a SEA LIFE Aquarium, more than 60 rides and attractions, 20 food and beverage locations, and 14 retail stores – the opportunities here are endless!About the RoleWith the direction of the Resort Experience Manager, the Resort Experience Events and Education Assistant Manager will provide operational day-to-day leadership to all department Model Citizens ensuring the work environment is safe and memorable experiences are provided to Resort guests. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:Creates, organizes, and delivers assigned Resort events on time and on budget.Ensures all Resort events are delivered flawlessly, with clear and concise communication in advance of events.​Lead by example to ensure MCs meet or exceed the LEGOLAND® and Merlin Entertainment Guest Obsession standards.Manage event and education inventory and liaise as check-out POC.Act as lead for event load-in and out and day-of POC during resort events.Update event and education department SOP’s as needed and ensure all safety procedures are adhered to during all events.Ensure risk assessments are completed with each resort event, ensuring safety is a top priority.Daily operational scheduling, time keeping and payroll support.Support in recruiting and training of new event and education Model Citizens.Leads and assists with all opening and closing procedures for Imagination Zone and theatre venues.Ensures operating procedures are adhered to and followed at all times. Informs of any irregularities that need attention.Assists in safety, first aid, or lost parent incidents.Facilitate education class experiences as needed.Manage vendor relations and negotiate best pricing.Conduct event research on industry trends, supporting LEGOLAND California in remaining fast moving and innovative.Supports in creating and sustaining a healthy, thriving Resort Experience team culture.​Responsible for assisting events and education leadership in evaluating, training and coaching team members to help develop a guest obsessed, professional, efficient and effective team.Other duties as required.Background and Experience: 5+ years administrative/office experience.3+ years coordinating and executing event experiences.Timeliness, thoroughness, and the ability to adapt to situational changes required.Excellent customer service skills with the ability to develop and maintain good internal and external relations with a diverse group of individuals, including both children and adults.Ability to maintain a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, work well under pressure, juggle multiple priorities, exercise good judgment and meet deadlines with professionalism.Self-motivated and positive problem-solving skills.Independent worker who understands the need and value of team.Must thrive in a multi-façade environment while remaining calm and organized.Creative attention to detail.Strong emotional intelligence and ability to communicate and engage with stakeholders with confidence.Intermediate Microsoft Office skill level.Education experience a plus.Associates degree required.Bachelors degree a plus, or the work equivalent. ​Health & SafetyManagers are responsible for all aspects of Health, Safety & Security within their team, in line with the Group Policy (HS001). In particular, they must ensure that risk assessments safe working procedures are in place for all work activities and that all employees in their teams are aware of the Group Health, Safety and Security Policy and their obligations under it. They must ensure that safe working practices are monitored, and that risk assessments and procedures are reviewed regularly. Where incidents do occur, they must ensure that they are investigated appropriately and that where necessary, corrective action is taken to ensure that such incidents are not repeated.Physical Demands: Excellent fine motor skills to move tables, chairs, and other event supplies as needed. Intermittent and prolonged standing and walking. Must be able to lift upwards of 40 pounds. Visual acuity sufficient to read detailed material and hearing sufficient to communicate in an array of environments with background noise. Intermittent and prolonged standing and walking to move about the park site and interact with employees and guests.Work Environment: Various inside and outside locations with varying temperatures and floor surfaces.
