PRIMARY PURPOSE: The Indians are looking for service minded teammates, who are committed to working together to help us create amazing memories for fans, each other and all visitors to Progressive Field.

Entertain fans at each Cleveland Guardians home game by performing choreographed routines and skits, appearing in video features, leading the crowd in chants, hosting contests, distributing giveaway items, taking photos with or for fans and simply entertaining Guardians fans whenever possible. Assist with the execution and management of Cleveland Guardians special in-park and off-site events, including corporate, community and marketing events. Executing all pre-game, in-game and post-game entertainment as well as special activities in the park.

All applicants for employment with the Cleveland Guardians will need to comply with the Cleveland Guardians Vaccination Policy as a condition of employment. Potential candidates for employment will be notified of the requirements of this policy prior to the start of employment.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

Assist the Manager of Live Experience, Mascot Coordinator and Game Director with the execution of all in-park and outside event entertainment:

Greet and interact with fans and general public, displaying a high-energy, up-beat personality
Perform in pre-game, in-game and post-game entertainment activities, contests, promotions, skits, routines and special appearances
Attend rehearsals and performance training sessions as assigned
Assist in the execution of promotional giveaways, special celebrations and in-park activation areas (All gates, Heritage Plaza, Corner Bar, Kids’ Clubhouse, etc.)
Perform as ancillary costumed characters as assigned
Act as a handler for Hot Dog and Slider costumed characters during in-park and off-site appearances, ensuring the safety of the mascot performer and public while safe-guarding the Mascot costumes
Work minimum of 60 home game dates (including weekends and holidays, plus all potential pre-season and post-season home game dates and events as assigned)
Work off-season/winter events as assigned
Work community and corporate appearances as assigned
Participation in trainings pertaining to public health and appropriate public health-related protocols.
Assistance in application and enforcement of public health-related requirements, including (but not limited to) requirements pertaining to the wearing of masks and/or social distancing.
Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Manager of Live Experience, Mascot Coordinator and Game Director

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Previous experience in live performance / performing arts / cheerleading / dance teams / broadcasting / promotions/ special events / street teams and performing in front of large audiences
Ability to obtain and perform rehearsed/choreographed materials

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

Must have a flexible schedule and ability to work extended days and hours
Must work minimum of 60 home games
Must be available for weekend home games
Must be available to work outside appearances on non-game days
Express an outgoing, athletic, high-energy, cheerful demeanor in all situations
Must be comfortable on camera
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment with a positive attitude in front of large crowds
Must work a minimum of 2 volunteer events throughout the season
Ability to meet all team uniform and dress codes, including assigned Entertainment Team wear
Ability to follow directions and adjust on the fly
Must have cardio/respiratory endurance
Candidates for driving Guardians’ promotional team vehicle must be over 21 years of age
Solid understanding of the game of baseball

ORGANIZATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Reads, speaks, comprehends, and communicates English effectively in all communications.
Represents the Cleveland Guardians in a positive fashion to all business partners and the general public.
Ability to develop and maintain successful working relationships with members of the Front Office.
Ability to act according to the organizational values and service excellence at all times.
Ability to work with diverse populations and have a demonstrated commitment to social justice.
Ability to walk, sit or stand for an entire shift.
Ability to work extended days and hours, including holidays and weekends.
Ability to move throughout all areas and levels of the Ballpark.
Ability to work in a diverse and changing environment.
Occasional physical activity such as lifting and carrying boxes up to 25 lbs.
