| Job Description : | CHORAL DIRECTOR for 2022-2023 SCHOOL YEARThe Southern Berkshire Regional School District is seeking a Choral Director for the 2022-2023 school year. This full-time position is for choral instruction in Grades 3-12, and as such applicants should be comfortable working with students at a variety of ages and ability levels.Position includes: One curricular HS ensembleOne curricular Junior High EnsembleOne curricular 6th Grade EnsembleCurricular Elementary Choruses (3rd grade, 4th grade, 5th grade)One HS elective class which currently rotates between History of Pop/Rock, Piano, and Voice Studio; but has flexibility to be designed by teacher.Opportunity to teach stipend extra-curricular vocal ensembles: Madrigals, Male Pop A acapella and Female Pop A acapellaOther Responsibilities: Prepare high school and junior high students for District Honors and All-State ensembles, as well as chaperone them at eventsContinue the administrative development of the choral/music department, i/e., fund raising projects, working with booster organization, and other activities that promote the departmentExecute the music curriculum within the choral rehearsal classroom, at all levelsPosition Qualifications: Strong age appropriate vocal pedagogy skillsStrong piano skillsExperience arranging for vocal ensembles a plus, but not requiredRequirements: Must hold appropriate certification from MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (Music: Vocal/Instrumental/General -All Levels)Masters Degree in music or music education preferred.Southern Berkshire Regional School District is located in the beautiful Berkshires.
