Job Description : Bachelor’s degree in math, statistics, or computer science or related area
4+ years of professional experience in data modeling / advanced business analytics
Experience in ETL and databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
Knowledge of SQL and experience with efficient processing of large data sets
Knowledge of columnar databases like Redshift and Vertica; Understand database optimization
Experience in designing and building data infrastructure/automated reporting tools (Tableau)
Experience in advanced business/customer analytics
Experience conveying key insights from complex analysis in summarized business terms
Experienced in creating an maintaining data pipelines, ensuring that SLAs are met and that data quality is high

Proficiency in at least one major programming language (Java, Scala, C++, Python)
Experience with supervised and unsupervised machine learning algorithms
Strong grasp of data structures and algorithms

Job summary
The Global Media Entertainment (GME) organization encompasses multiple entertainment businesses (Music, Video, Game, Audible,…). In order to help exploit the synergies between these entertainment segments, the GME team is investing in GME wide analytics and metrics and leverage disruptive ideas.

To support the GME organization, we are looking for a truly innovative BIE to work on disruptive ideas. Examples of projects include developing customer analytics that track customer usage and engagement across all GME businesses (Prime Video, Amazon Music, IMDb TV, Audible, Twitch and Gaming), creating a GME-centered customer segmentation model and show how customers are moving between different segments, building a DSI model that is tailored for GME use cases.

In this role, you will partner with scientists to ensure that they have the right data they need for their models. You will also be responsible for executing and improving one or more model pipelines to produce regular predictions for our customers. The role may also involve setting up reporting pipelines (e.g. Tableau dashboards) for presenting findings to our customers.

The candidate should have strong communication skills, be able to work closely with stakeholders and translate data-driven findings into actionable insights. The successful candidate will be a self-starter comfortable with ambiguity, with strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.

On our team you will work with a diverse scientific team including engineers, economist and scientists to build statistical models using world-class data systems and partner directly with the business to implement the solutions.

Experience with the entertainment space and/or Prime Video/Amazon Music
Experience collaborating with software development teams, data scientists, business intelligence or other technical roles
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrable track record dealing well with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering results in an agile, dynamic environment
Experience with AWS features (S3, Redshift, Sagemaker)
