Reporting to the Director of Special Event Booking, the Event Sales Manager is responsible for meeting and exceeding special event sales revenue goals through the confirmation of corporate/private events, graduations, fundraising events, business meetings, community, and other events as needed throughout the 320-acre Sports and Entertainment Park. The Event Sales Manager must have existing and create new relationships with businesses, community leaders, non-profit organizations, and other corporate and community entities in the Phoenix Metropolitan Area to maximize revenues on off peak hours of the Park. This position must be able to confirm and then effectively communicate and hand over the requests and logistics of these events to the Director of Production and Special Events to produce the most professional and profitable events possible. Additionally, this position must assist with client fulfillment as needed, event proposals, event hospitality and client interaction throughout the year. The ideal candidate will be an independent self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit.
Essential Job Functions:
Identify, prioritize, and solidify key leads with corporate, community, and non-profit organizations to confirm single and annual special events during off peak hours of the park.
Sell various Park venue inventory per Director of Special Event Booking to include the Festival Lawn, Tixr Yard, and Fieldhouses but also conference rooms, party rooms, the arcade, the GOAT restaurant, the hospitality tent, and various studios and classroom spaces.
Work with Director of Special Event Booking and the Special Event Department to assist in hitting the Department’s yearly net revenue goals.
Develop and present best-in-class event sales proposals and presentations to prospective clients.
Build strong relationships with event clients to ensure long-lasting relationships.
Contact accounts and maintain and develop relationship with event clients throughout the year to ensure personalized, continual contact and continued growth of events.
Maintain database and add new database leads.
Develop and implement plans to grow specific revenue streams
Identify categories for prospective new special event leads.
Work closely with other members of the Legacy Sports USA and Oak View Group team to achieve goals of organization while meeting and exceeding individual sales revenue goals.
Report weekly to Director of Special Event Booking with status reports
. Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
3-4 years of work experience in a sales environment. Experience in special events or related field preferred.
Must be detail-oriented and organized.
Communicate (both written & verbal) in a concise and effective manner.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Sales and Customer Service experience is a plus
Experience in managing or leading teams
Strong track record of building strong and trusting relationships
Knowledge on multiple technological platforms such as PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
The employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, use handle, or feel, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, communicate with others.
The vision requirement includes the ability to review written and electronic materials in both digital and physical format.
The employee must be able to transfer and move items for departmental needs.
The employee must be able to adjust to changing work hours and locations as needed considering the strong focus on external communications and relationships.
