Job Description : Content Writer/Editor- Military.com

Military.com is looking for a Content Writer/Editor to join our team. This editor/writer will source or write and publish new informational content across site sections while updating and managing previously published content, focusing energy on topic needs created by seasonality or current events. Develop a strategy for content selection for over a dozen newsletter products, working closely with the analytics team to find the perfect nexus of giving readers what they need and making the newsletter products a success.

The ideal candidate will have a keen news sense, understanding what makes a story or piece of content important, good, or interesting. They will have an eye for detail and a drive to make news and content that is appealing because it is useful or entertaining (or both) and entirely accurate. They will be willing to not just choose content for the newsletters but dedicate themselves to understanding what should be in each newsletter product to lead it to success. Collegiality and integrity are also a must: we’re a tight-knit, collaborative team that works hard to gain and maintain the trust of the military community with balanced, accurate and useful news and information. While previous knowledge of the military or veteran community is not required, it is a plus.
