Job Description : | Beginning August 2022**Film DepartmentBranded EntertainmentFull-Time Faculty Appointment with Benefits**The Film Department at Ringling College of Art and Design combines the power of film as a storytelling medium with the flexibility of the latest digital technology. Filmmaking is taught employing digital tools within a range of pre-production, production, and post-production courses. There are two areas of emphasis – Narrative and Branded Entertainment. Students learn the theoretical, aesthetic, and practical aspects of the field in an environment that puts the story at the center of the filmmaking process.The Branded Entertainment emphasis teaches students to create film and video content with a branded message that engages consumers through entertainment. Graduates will be prepared to work in creative fields that demand knowledge of branding, strategic thinking, concept development, storytelling, script writing, content development as well as film and video production.Included among the Duties and Responsibilities of this position are: Ability to teach Brand Storytelling, Topics in Branded Entertainment, Business of Branded Entertainment, courses in script writing, and Branded Entertainment production courses.This is a full-time appointment with benefits. The salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience. The anticipated start date is August 2022. The teaching responsibility is three courses or nine credits per semester. The College has a supportive, collegial faculty, a curriculum that strongly values excellence and a robust support system dedicated to using the most current technology. Ongoing commitment to creative work/scholarship in the profession is expected and active participation with faculty, department and college service is required.Minimum QualificationsInclude evidence evidence of:A Master’s degree in marketing, advertising, communications, film/television production, screenwriting, or related field with a strong record of professional achievement OR a 4-year professional degree and equivalent experience, training, and expertise with an appropriate record of creative professional achievement in the field.A record of significant and recent professional experience in one or more of the following areas: advertising, brand storytelling, branded content and entertainment, creative direction, or copywriting.An ability to clearly communicate and work effectively in a collaborative educational environment with faculty, students, and administrators.__Preferred QualificationsInclude evidence of:A Master’s degree or other terminal degree in a related field from a regionally accredited school.Two years of full-time college-level teaching or the equivalent in part-time teaching.Knowledge of both current and evolving issues facing the field and strategies to best address them.Ability to teach thesis level courses in Branded Entertainment.A broad range of professional experiences, including two or more of the following: experience working in agency environments, experience in concept development for brand marketing and communications, development of story-driven branded content, experience in account and client management, and experience in branded content film production.Knowledge of production and post-production digital workflow processes, including post-production supervising.Ability to teach on topics relevant to the Business of Art and Design major.Posting Date 03/04/2022 Closing Date Open Until Filled Yes Special Instructions to ApplicantsRequired materials include cover letter incorporating experiences that address the position requirements, resume or CV with employment and education history, contact information of three references (names, titles, email, and telephone numbers), examples of personal work, and an unofficial transcript copy of the most relevant degree.
