The News Editor works closely with Producer of assigned show and other newsroom colleagues to get the cleanest and most editorially sound show on the air.Essential Job FunctionsEdit non-linear footage from raw video and feed sourcesArchive stories and organize video in a windows-based editing environmentPerform operations in feed-roomWork closely with producer of assigned show and other newsroom personnel to get the cleanest and most editorially sound shows on the airRequired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: At least one year of news editing experienceAbility to edit to script and tell a story with picturesHave a grasp on newsroom operations and clear understanding of current eventsHave experience with non-linear editingENPS newsroom computer systems experience a plusMust be organized with strong communication and computer skillsBe able to work well under deadline pressureEducation and Experience: Minimum two years of college or trade school, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.Familiar with Edius a plus*Waterman Broadcasting offers a comprehensive benefits package.
