| Job Description : | Job Posting – January 6, 2022Organist/Pianist – Broomfield UMC (Broomfield, CO)Broomfield United Methodist Church has an immediate opening for an Organist/Pianist. This position is part-time (10-12 hours) salaried position reporting to the Choir Director. This position works with the ministry team to craft meaningful worship experience and high-quality worship music. Primary duties include both organ and piano to lead service music and congregational singing on Sundays and weekly rehearsals.Responsibilities:Position requires 10-12 hours per week, including services, rehearsals, practice and preparation (four Sundays off per year)Organ/piano duties for two Sunday services (8:00 & 11:00am) year roundCollaborative Pianist for choir(s) including weekly rehearsals and Sunday morning warm-ups and services late-August through early-June including holiday services in which the choir(s) participateOrgan/piano duties for all additional holiday/Feast Day services including Christmas Eve, Holy Week, and an annual Christmas Cantata (early December)Collaborative Pianist duties also include coordinating and leading rehearsal times (Wednesday evenings & Sunday mornings between services) with solo/chamber groups that participate in the traditional worship servicesWeekly coordination/communication with the Choir DirectorOpportunities for organ/piano duties at weddings and funerals for additional remuneration above and beyond position’s annual salaryOversee the maintenance and care of the organs and pianos, including arranging for tuning of the pianos four times per year by qualified and trained professionalsQualifications:Minimum 4 years experience playing the piano and organMinimum 4 years experience accompany a choirKnowledge of a wide range of classical and contemporary piano and organ repertoireUnderstand and embrace the mission and vision of Broomfield United Methodist ChurchCompensation:Compensation is based on experience. Salary is $14,000-16,000 per year.
