About the Role

The Motion Designer is a key role for the future of the PitchBook brand. This role partners closely with the Creative Team, including strategists, designers, multimedia specialists, copywriters and copy editors, to support the efforts of marketing stakeholders and other departments across the company. This role provides innovative promotional video content and motion graphics that will enhance our customer’s experience during events, through social media visuals and marketing campaign assets. This expertise, combined with a high standard of design, will ensure we up-level PitchBook’s brand as we continue to expand and develop it.

The Motion Designer must be organized, collaborative highly detail-oriented, deadline-driven, a strong communicator and passionate about design in motion. This role requires an individual that can manage the different stages of the creative process: conceptualization, storyboarding, animating and final asset output.

The Marketing team is critical to fueling the company’s growth by utilizing a variety of strategies to help our Sales and Customer Success teams grow and retain our client base, help our People team recruit and retain great talent, and lead all demand generation efforts via engaging campaign executions, effective product marketing strategies, brand campaigns and client and trade-show events. The Marketing team is also responsible for public relations, partnerships and internal communications.

Primary Job Responsibilities:
Understand the project scope and responsibilities
On-time delivery of all project and campaign assets while maintaining the highest levels of quality and consistency
Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to deliver high-quality, scalable and on-brand motion solutions
Produce motion graphics on a project basis
Support creation of templatized motion graphics (MOGRTS)
Proactively manages expectations of projects and deliverables to all stakeholders to minimize and mitigate risk
Support the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors

Skills and Qualifications:

Expert knowledge in After Effects, Premiere Pro and Adobe CS
3-5 years of motion design experience from an entertainment company, advertisement agency or in-house motion team in a deadline driven environment
3-5 years professional experience across a range of motion design disciplines: 2D motion graphics, character animation, video and video editing
Familiarity with HTML5 animation a plus
Demonstrated experience of working effectively with creative teammates and design proficiencies including: layout, typography, illustration, color, photography and video
Ability to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively across multiple departments in a large organization
Exceptional attention to detail and a focus on process improvement
Experience using creative project planning and management software, such as Asana, Wrike or Trello.
Knowledge of private equity, venture capital and M&A is helpful, but not required
Expert working knowledge with the Adobe CS and Figma, experience with MS Office suite including:Outlook, Word and Excel with the ability to pick up new systems and software easily
