The Meeting & Events Park Coordinator is at the forefront of delivering a positive meeting and events experience as a cultural ambassador and service leader. The Meeting and Events Park Coordinator will be overseeing and managing programming at the park located at 320 Canal that will offer free-high quality events and programs that draw people to the space and enrich the community
In this role, you would be the customer service provider for meeting and events. Daily duties would include tasks like moving, setting up and striking furniture, décor, welcoming guests, providing wayfinding support for attendees, preparing, refreshing and clearing food and beverage stations.

Ideal candidate will be passionate about public and community programming and effective working independently and with groups. This role will be expected to working non-traditional hours and be confident in managing programs and events onsite.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provides event planning services including the coordination of space configuration, , seating plans, catering coordination, entertainment sourcing and guest list management. Establishes and maintains a working relationship with a network of vendors and is able to speak confidently about both their services and the event space when touring prospective clients. Will be helping to develop new programs, marketing initiatives and experiential marketing ideas to grow park audience Manages booking enquiries and space calendar, requests and reviews invoices in a timely manner, manages event budgets as required. Supports Meeting and Events Manager in external marketing efforts to drive space revenue and ensure awareness of events to tannts Plan, coordinate and execute robust year round schedule of public programs and performances, which will include music, theatre, dance, fitness classes, and kids offerings. ( nights and weekend programming involved) Support (only) Property Team in coordinating building-wide and park events and maintaining content on the Cohesion App. Field inquires for promotional events/ activations for consideration. Escalates potential issues/concerns to management as appropriate. Responsible for post event storage and inventory of tables, chairs, AV equipment and communicates timing on cleaning services. Conducts set up, refresh and removal of food, beverage and service items. Completes room checks and ensures technical and visual spaces are functioning properly. Communicates corrections as needed to appropriate contact. Monitors and responds to event activities such as gathering event supplies, equipment needs, food & beverage services, facility security, etc. May work on setting up audio visual equipment, including routine inspection & inventory control. This includes troubleshooting of basic audio visual issues. Will help train and manage staff Evaluate the success of programming events and make recommendations to implement improvements Performs other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities

Qualifications

Education and Experience
HS Diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree or professional hospitality accreditations preferred.
No work experience is required but 2-4 years of experience in professional working setting, preferably in event planning, programs/ events at a public park, museum, performing arts center or cultural institution.
