Job Description : The Events Coordinator will be joining a team who is working to create a sense of place and community for those who interact with Boxyard RTP, a new Food + Beverage + Retail + Experiences concept, and other Research Triangle Park brands through the marketing and implementation of events & programs. With this position we are not only looking for someone to be the boots on the ground at events at Boxyard RTP, but also someone with a creative mindset to collaborate with our team and ideate the future events and programs.Duties and Responsibilitieso Provide event support and setup for weekly & popup programming, special events, entertainment and fitness initiatives at Boxyard RTP. Examples include, but are not limited to: corporate nights, yoga, progressive dinners, and makers markets.o Work with the Sr. Director of Programs and Marketing Team to run a digital events calendar on boxyardrtp.com that showcases and promotes a robust offering of opportunities hosted by Boxyard RTP, our tenants and external groups.o Post to our social media accounts in real-time to create a buzz within the community.o Coordinate with tenants, vendors, and contractors as it relates to the production and promotion of events, especially those held on the Boxyard stage.o Act as a physical presence at Boxyard RTP during events for questions and inquiries from the public.o Monitor Boxyard RTP’s music playlist and TV selections throughout the day.o Support other programs occurring throughout the Frontier campus, such as speaker series and happy hours, when needed.o Ad-hoc marketing support.o Perform other duties as assigned or required.Organizational RelationshipsReports to the Sr. Director of Programs and is part of the Programs Team. In addition, this position will interact regularly with the Marketing & Communications Team as well as the Frontier RTP Programs Coordinator.Required Qualifications: · Education: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university with an applicable concentration.· An outgoing personality and a positive work ethic.· A passion for events, bringing people together and creating a sense of place.· A hospitality background or mindset.· Expertise with social media and digital media content (videos, photos, blogs), including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and WordPress.· Outstanding oral and written communication skills.· A detailed oriented mindset with strong organization skills.· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.· A creative eye with an aptitude for design· Strong communication & problem-solving skills.· Positive attitude, sense of humor, and the ability to collaborate, execute and engage with Team Members, the Boxyard RTP Community and its stakeholders.· Ability to communicate orally with visitors, partners, vendors, management and other patrons; regular use of telephone and email for communication is essential.Physical Demands· Sitting and standing for extended periods is common; hearing, vision and speaking within normal ranges is essential for conversation, to receive ordinary information and to prepare or inspect documents.· Ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Moving and reconfiguration of tables, chairs and other event props will occur daily.· While most work weeks will be a traditional 40 hours, your schedule will consist of working nights and weekends. Availability for nights and weekends is required because the events will be outside typical “office hours”. Covering these events will be a shared responsibility between the Sr. Director of Programs, other Events Coordinators, and occasionally by other staff/ interns and will be scheduled at least one week prior to the given event. Benefits eligible.· Work overtime as business needs deem appropriate.· Good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment, such as laptops, telephones, copiers, and projectors.· Willingness to be trained on AV equipment as it pertains to the Boxyard RTP stage.Work Environment: This job is performed in an indoor-outdoor setting, located at Boxyard RTP. Activities include extended periods of sitting, standing, occasional fast paced events and extensive work at a computer monitor.
