Job Summary:
This position will have active involvement of the leadership of Asbury, as it relates to the worship culture. Vast musical knowledge is a must along with a strong ability to build teams and oversee a volunteer base that is both musical and technical. This position will work with the Traditional Worship team, both staff and volunteers, to create a growing worship culture.

Responsibilities:
Meet regularly with the Lead Pastor and Director of Contemporary Worship for development of churchwide vision planning and worship initiatives.
Collaborate with the Traditional Worship team for planning, organizing, and leading the worship elements of Sunday morning services and other specific worship services as scheduled in the Traditional Sanctuary.
Meet regularly with the Director of Asbury Orchestra, Director of Asbury Handbells, the Traditional Worship Organist and Pianist, and Kids and Student Choir Directors for scheduling and worship planning along with developing curriculum for the various musical groups.
Oversee Traditional Worship ensemble groups which include Chancel Choir, Women’s Ensemble and various other smaller musical groups as needed.
Work with the Asbury Orchestra Director and Christ Choir Director to schedule various concerts throughout the year for community outreach.
Collaborate with Contemporary and Harvest Worship staff to plan and implement special worship services throughout the year which include, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Lenten Vespers, Lessons & Carrols, and other services as requested.
Oversee and maintain the musical equipment within the traditional worship space.
Collaborate with the Director of Technical Arts for equipment or system maintenance and upgrades as needed.
Collaborate with the Lead Pastor and/or Teaching Pastor for musical selection for Sunday services and special worship services.
Choose and acquire the necessary choral and instrumental music for all traditional programming. Oversee the maintenance of the extensive Asbury choral library.
Coordinate the Traditional Worship environment with assistance of the traditional staff in accordance with the Creative Communications sermon series design.
Attend weekly meetings including Traditional ministry staff meetings, Traditional Worship Design meetings, and Monthly Asbury Directors and All Staff meetings. Attend collaboration meetings for joint worship services as needed.
Be actively involved in the training and recruiting of volunteers. Help cultivate a Christ-centered community with the members of the team on a personal and spiritual level, making them feel a valuable part of the team.
Have a vision for where God might be calling our team to grow in new expressions of worship, and shepherd the musical and spiritual growth of our staff team and volunteers.
