Job Description : The Catholic Community of St. Francis Xavier in Hunt Valley, Maryland, is seeking a part-time (25 hours per week) Director of Music Ministries to build and sustain a strong and vibrant ministry of music which encourages active worship participation. This is a benefit-eligible position which reports directly to the Pastor.

Plan music for regular liturgies and special liturgical celebrations
Lead choir in rehearsal, warm-ups and during liturgies
Act as primary accompanist for weekend liturgies and other Masses/services
Create worship aides as needed
Assist families with music selection and planning for funeral and wedding liturgies
Schedule and train cantors, organists, choir members, etc.; hire additional musicians for special celebrations and direct musicians as needed

Job Requirements:

Must be a practicing Roman Catholic able to participate in sacraments
Experience with Catholic liturgy is preferred
Must be proficient on organ and piano, conducting and vocal
Bachelor’s degree in Music or a related field
Knowledge of diverse musical styles, such as traditional Catholic hymns, contemporary and Praise/Worship
