ABOUT THE ROLE
Responsible for the delivery of exceptional guest service in hotel operations and experience on the International vessels and for the overall fleetwide food & beverage program. Through innovation and leadership, this position ensures the onboard service experience reflects Lindblad’s passion for the extraordinary.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Responsible for International vessels guest services hotel operations.
Oversee development and execution of culinary and beverage initiatives.
Ensures delivery of exceptional shipboard guest service and experience by hotel personnel.
Identifies and implements enhancements for shipboard service, including new programs, propagating best practices, and improving existing elements of shipboard service.
Quality control of responsible vessels for Dining Room Service, F&B, Bar/Lounge, Linen/Laundry, Housekeeping, Global Gallery, Maintenance of public spaces, Wellness program and service.
Responsible for meeting or exceeding vessel hotel operating budgets.
Responsible for vessel hotel standards and training related to CDC/USPH requirements.
Provides leadership and guest service guidance, training and support to Hotel Managers, Head Chefs, Pursers and all hotel and galley personnel.
Oversees hotel training programs, identifying needs and coordinating execution of training for hotel and galley personnel and participates as appropriate.
Update vessel hotel operating manuals and keep current.
Directly involved with planning and training for startup of new international vessel operations and USA F&B operations for successful entry into the market.
Ensures exemplary presentation of service personnel, including uniforms and appearance. Responsible for selecting and standardizing fleet service uniforms and working with Purchasing & Supply chain for processes.
Conducts Hotel Manager performance evaluations and coordinates feedback from department heads.
Select and implements product specifications for vessel hotel operations and works closely with Purchasing department and Director of Supply Chain for initiatives.
Responsible for vessel profit centers’ quality, profitability, guest service impact, inventory and goals.
Coordinate shipyard projects and leads initiatives, obtaining quotes, planning budgets and executing work.
Work closely with the Marine operations team to ensure both maintenance, capex, drydock and newbuild project handoffs are seamlessly executed between departments.
Ensure shipboard signage and communication materials reflect LEX marketing materials in format and tone.
Oversees shipboard Wellness program.
Manage guest entertainment selections including Movies, TV content, Music, eBook on LEX vessels;
Responsible for vessel shipboard accounting and software training or updates as needed to ensure guest service.
Monitors guest feedback from comment cards, letters, and hotel manager reports, ship visits, etc.
Visit vessels as necessary or determined by VP Hotel Operations for site visits, training and development.
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience
BA/BS degree, and 5+ year’s management experience within hospitality environment. Maritime industry or remote destination experience preferred.

Communication Skills
Using the English language, this person must have an ability to read, write, and comprehend policies, legal guidelines, correspondence, and memos. Must also possess exceptional communication skills -both in writing and orally—and the ability to persuade.

Other Skills/Abilities
Proficient computer skills in the Windows operating system, including both word-processing and spreadsheet applications.
Excellent customer services skills required.
Strong skills in leadership, time management, handling multiple tasks, setting priorities, and meeting deadlines.
The ability to work independently as well as with others in a team environment.
Regular travel is required.
